Performs diagnostic tests & measures during PT evaluations on individuals to determine the nature and extent of disabilities.

Develops rehab plans of care and reviews this information with the physician(s), interdisciplinary team members, consumers, et. al, as needed.

Administers prescribed treatments to individuals by the application of accepted physical therapy treatment modalities such as, but not limited to, massage, therapeutic exercises, adaptive equipment, mobility & standing aids, hydrotherapy, manual therapy and heat therapy.

Functional supervision of support staff engaged in providing the scope of department obligations, given table of organization.

Demonstrates techniques and teaches roles & goals of the physical therapy discipline to facility staff. Provides related training to staff and individuals.

Interprets responses/reactions of individuals to physical therapy treatments and services and adjusts the length and intensity of the treatment.

Documents and reviews physical therapy program services provided for the individual on a monthly and quarterly basis.

Determines individual's progress in meeting their individual physical therapy program goals and objectives.

Attends and participates in interdisciplinary team meetings.

Prioritize and delegate responsibilities to physical therapy aides, TASWs and adaptive equipment technicians as needed.

Recommends procurement of supplies and equipment for individuals and the PT/OT department.
