Rehabilitation patients will also benefit from our hospital network of specialists is available, should a special need arise. We offer rehab patients the security of having medical diagnostic and therapeutic services readily available; to include 24-hour access to on-site physicians certified in Advanced Cardiac life Support. Rehabilitation patients are under the supervision of a Physiatrist (a medical doctor with specialty training in physical rehabilitation) and a treatment team comprised of nurses, therapists (physical, occupational, speech, and recreational), clinical social workers, case managers, dietitians, and licensed professional counselors.. Responsible for the evaluation and administering physical therapy modalities of treatment as prescribed by a licensed physician in an effort to restore function and prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsible for evaluation, planning, directing and administering occupational therapy modalities of treatment as prescribed by a licensed physician. Administers treatments and physical agents as prescribed by a referring physician in an effort to restore function and prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability. Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. The staff therapist coordinates, delegates and supervises responsibilities assigned to supportive staff to include COTAs, OT Aides, and students. The staff therapist participates in operational aspects of the department, maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in PI activities. Provides input in formulating budget, assists in evaluating department performance versus budget controls and takes appropriate action to remain in budget guidelines. Ensures that patient charges are accurate and entered on a timely basis. Participates in all infection control, departmental equipment training, organizational safety and fire safety programs. Patients cared for or interacted with are infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatric. JOB REQUIREMENTS:(This description includes only Education, Experience & Certification/Licensure requirements. It does NOT include physical & mental requirements. Please review complete job description located in Human Resource).Education - Must have a minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy or Masters Occupational Therapy Degree. Experience - Affiliation experience or employment experience in a physical disability setting is preferred. Certification/Licensure - Must be currently licensed and in good standing in the State of Oklahoma; or be license eligible with a temporary letter to practice granted. Must be currently certified by the National Board of Certification for Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) or eligible for NBCOT$3K Education Reimbursement Bonus for New Graduates signing
