Job Description

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST TRAVEL POSITION IN A SCHOOL BASED SETTING!!!

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:

Responsible for providing professional services to students who have occupational therapy
needs. The Occupational Therapist provides evaluation and treatment of students whose
abilities to have academic success in school is impaired by congenital or developmental deficits,
physical injury, or illness.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty
satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or

REQUIREMENTS:

State license; Member in good standing with the American O.T. Assn.; good written
and verbal communication skills; visual acuity to perceive student reactions to treatment; good
motor coordination, as well as good manual and finger dexterity to work with therapeutic
equipment and students; ability to develop good interpersonal relationships with and between
students, teachers, staff.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors Degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university.
Completion of 6 to 9 months of supervised field work experience.
Completion of National Examination for OTR. While performing the duties of this job, the
employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 35
pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this
job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools,
or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or
hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color
vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Reliable transportation requires the employee to have a current driver’s license with access to
drive their insured personal vehicle on a regular basis when performing visits and/or other work
on behalf of Marshall Public Schools.

Work Environment: Normal office environment.

How Long Are Travel Assignments?
At (login to see company), assignments are typically 13 weeks (3 months); however, we maybe able to customize the length of an assignment to meet your needs.
Can I work Longer in an assignment for Longer than 13 weeks?
Yes, some contracts will be for 26 weeks or longer and many facilities offer extensions. If the client would like for you to stay longer you can. The choice will be yours.
Can I stay permanently with a facility/clinic after I have completed a travel assignment?
Yes, If the client would like to hire you permanently, we will be happy to assist with this process.
