Job Description : The Occupational Therapist implements occupational therapy programs and provides occupational therapy treatments to clients to facilitate increased independence.
The Occupational Therapist must be a graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Program certified by the National Board of Occupational Therapists. He/she must be licensed and/or eligible for licensure as required by the state of practice.
The Occupational Therapist organizes and conducts occupational therapy programs for the clinic to facilitate rehabilitation. He/she directs client participation in selected tasks to restore, reinforce, and enhance performance. In addition, the Occupational Therapist facilitates the learning of those skills and functions essential for promoting independence and productivity, in order to diminish or correct pathology. He/she directs activities to promote and maintain health.
• Help a patient achieve independence in ADL and leisure activities by providing range of motion, strengthening, and functional training following joint replacement surgery.
• Help a patient with osteoporosis to be active and pain-free by developing safe and effective exercise programs to improve function and reduce the risk of fractures.
• Provide consultation, evaluation and intervention to prevent skin breakdown (and to heal wounds when breakdown occurs) so that a patient does not develop complications from immobilization.
• Assist a patient with a pulmonary diagnosis to better understand and manage the disease process through education, resources, and treatment strategies that can help him achieve the highest level of functional independence.

You will use your clinical assessment and treatment skills while interacting with a variety of patient populations, including those receiving short-term rehabilitation, outpatient services, and long-term care.
You will use the latest standardized assessment tools, clinical interventions and treatments, and discharge planning skills to promote independence, maximize function, and return patients to their homes. In addition, they provide opportunities for new and seasoned staff to enhance their professional portfolios through our mentoring, clinical instructor, and master clinician programs.
