General Summary: The Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) assists the registered occupational therapist in various types of treatment programs to facilitate functional recovery, as well as administering, monitoring and documenting patient care. The OTA is active in unit activities, transdisciplinary team activities, and facility activities to ensure individualized, patient-centered health care for all patient populations admitted to the hospital.

Patient Population: Delivers direct patient care appropriate to the patients served. The ages of the patients served are adult (18-65 years of age) and geriatric (65 and older).

Education: Associate's degree from an accredited occupational therapy assistant school.

Licensure/Certification:

Must be currently licensed and/or certified as an Occupational Therapy Assistant per state requirements where currently practicing; Current BLS certification required.
